Minab. A normal school day. Then a double tap strike. It’s hard to imagine what precisely happens to a child’s body during and after an explosion. Anyone who knows small kids knows how they demand plasters for the most minor of cuts and scrapes. Now imagine what goes on in their minds when they see their bones protruding or as they are trying to push their guts back into their bodies with their own hands.
The school has a suspiciously close link to the government and army the US and Israel are trying to topple. Some kids are local kids with no such connection, but a lot of kids have a parent who serves in Iran’s revolutionary guard. The school is close to a military base, but we all know the US has the most sophisticated army the world has ever seen and precision guided missiles have been used. It’s blamed on US military staff using old data, on AI and too few checks before greenlighting the bombardment. Trump has a different explanation: the Iranian government bombed the school themselves. The school where some of their own army members have kids.
Also: Eric Trump invested in Israeli drone maker XTEND shortly before the US unleashed its hare brained war on Iran.
You’d think this school would dominate headlines for months after.
Local crime stories certainly get that privilege.
In Belgium every possible little detail connected to a father killing his own two daughters was front page news last week. It’s very conceivable you will find way more Belgians who can tell you about this case in graphic detail than there are Belgians who have ever even heard about any bombing of school in Iran. How many school girls and their teachers died. Why it was probably done. And how Trump’s own family seems to have made a small killing because of the war, though it’s not been conclusively proven his family knew the attack was imminent. What’s quite clear is that Iran didn’t bomb the school.
This is not some minute article reconstructing the bombing of Minab.
Why not?
Because there are so many Minabs.
States organize mass slaughter events, because a few people with actual power in this world hope to benefit personally and then these mass slaughter events turn out to be far less click worthy than the local farmer putting plastic bags over his own two daughters just to hurt his own ex wife.
Not that such a brutal case of infanticide should not get any attention, but it does expose we have some kind of malfunctioning system deciding what gets a lot of attention and what doesn’t.
School bombed, close to 200 people, mostly children, ripped apart, crushed by debris, lungs collapsing along with buildings. Oh, and it looks like the presidential family may have cashed in via well timed investments. Can’t imagine it. It’s tragic yes, sure, but I don’t really feel it, nobody I know bombs schools and I don’t own stocks in drone companies as far as I know. Did anything else happen today?
Two little girls trust papa and they let papa asphyxiate them. All so papa gets to get back at mama who hurt his fragile ego. Oooh, my God, this reasoning reminds me of so many people I know, tell me more. I bet my neighbour could some day do the same!! And oh, what pride I feel knowing that I am not like that beast.
The internet is full of podcasts trying to hook you with unresolved mysteries, but why big evil gets so little attention and‘little’ evil gets such big attention is rarely fully addressed.
One wonders if it has something to do with how big or how little the power the perpetrators of these big and little evils have.
