Iran cannot militarily defeat Israel or America in an air war and it can only disrupt the world’s economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz for a relatively short period of time.
American and Israeli bombs can hurt the Iranian people much more than Iranian missiles can hurt Israel and the US and its allies, but…
Israel and America cannot bomb a western puppet regime into the saddle in Teheran. Even a ground invasion would end the same way as it did in Afghanistan.
So what do we have? A stalemate.
Israel MAY weaken Hezbollah in Lebanon further, but since it never managed to fully defeat the much smaller organization of Hamas, this is also unlikely.
All this talk of a World War 3 I don’t see materialize. We would still need an improbable chain of events to make that happen.
Russia is already tied down in Ukraine.
China is not going for any open confrontation. It’s not even capitalizing on all this chaos by attacking Taiwan. Imagine the Chinese would do that right now…
Silliest of all is the EU, which reduces itself to commentator from the sidelines and keeps treating narcissistic lunatics like Trump and Netanyahu as normal people, as allies. They hereby quietely allow the rule of law to be chucked aside, allow violence, and accept that EU citizens will soon see rising prices. If the EU had any real humanitarian values it would categorically refuse to support Israel and the US in this hare brained adventure against the Persians, and Southern Lebanon.
And of course, not mentioned almost anywhere, is that throughout all this Israel is taking advantage of this escalation to further oppress the Palestinians.
Starving Palestinians won’t make headlines when ripped apart Iranian school children barely make it onto front pages.
Please don’t expect mainstream journalism to explain that what we see today is a result of the western coup against the democratically elected Mosadegh in Iran in 1953.
But that’s too complex and kills clicks.
