This comic book series is quite nicely done. You get a good impression of what it must have been like to be a German soldier on the front lines in the east. Some problems with the series:
Soviet soldiers are depicted as naive idiots who waste their lives in suicidal attacks and the German soldiers are very resourceful and skillful.
The war crimes of the Germans get some attention, but the reality was even worse. Maybe the reader is being spared the worst of it.
You can easily get the impression the Germans lost the war only because they were outnumbered, not because they blundered strategically time and time again.
Story-wise there are no characters to get attached to.
The drawings are superb. The action scenes are captivating and quite suspenseful.
The dialogues are quite nice as well.
All in all the series succeeds in landing you right smack dab in the middle of the carnage of the eastern front.
