Sue O’Malley: What are you majoring in?

Joel: Russian literature and Slavic languages.

Joel: Cabby, hot dog vendor, marijuana delivery guy. The world is my oyster.

Having majored in the exact same thing I can tell you that this is dead on. Except that reading the Russian classics helps to be a therapist. If you can understand the craziest, most bi-polar people on earth, the Russians, you can understand anyone.

So the movie…

It’s not very good.

It follows pretty much the same formula you’ve seen played out many times over.

Guy ends up in a shitty situation.

The bonus: there’s a hot girl around.

Struggle, struggle, struggle.

Does he get the girl or not?

Jesse Eisenberg, who’s a great actor, he’s excellent in The end of the tour, as a supernervous writer interviewing David Foster Wallace, wasted his talent on this flick.

The teeny tiny bit of humor there is in the movie comes from Kristen Wiig and  Bill Hader.
