The commentary on undeniable and abundantly proven Israeli evil is getting stale, derivative, self-serving and repetitive. One lane to claim in the attention economy. Old genocidal wine in new skins. I saw someone who would barely get any attention if he wasn’t posting non-stop about Israeli crimes and atrocities post yet another list of what Israel does. Everything you have heard a million times since October 7th.

How Israel can act with total impunity while the victims of Israel are systematically demonized. You can find roughly the same points pinned to my profile. By now we know it doesn’t solve anything. We know it doesn’t even slow down Israel. But there go those posts and the algorithm picks them up. Nothing new is said. It’s the same stuff repackaged. Old genocidal wine in new skins.A black picture with ‘fuck Israel’ in red letters will still get traction, will still generate retweets and likes.

If this is the counter-movement to Israel’s bloodthirsty shenaningans then it’s a great era to be evil in. The same with all the moronic drivel the needy, attention seeking megalomaniacs vomit up every single day. The pro-justice and pro-morality camp eagerly jumps on it. Screenshots of outrageous statements get retweeted.

Everyone with at least 1,000 followers has to poop out his or her take on the latest hate filled tantrum of some nitwit who only gets attention because of his crusade against human lives he’s decided need to be stamped out. Donald Trump, Benjamin Gvir, Smotrich (I don’t care enough about these c###roaches to remember all their first names), Benjamin Netanyahu, champions of cringe and neediness like that woman who ran for president, the desperate chick who yelled: ‘finish them!’ I don’t even want to google her…, you know the list, it’s the same 50 narcissists we’ve allowed to determine the news cycles for years.

For some crapping ludicrous pro-Israeli fantasy has become their main source of income. And that’s in part thanks to you and me who attack them and turn these unknown nobodies into (in)famous nobodies who get paid when we talk about them, even if we think we are humiliating or correcting them. They thank you from the bottom of their greedy demonic heart.

They thank you for talking about them, for making them important, they thank you for knowing them while you don’t know the name of a nurse who sat up all night next to a young girl suffering from leukemia at a hospital near you. And even if you did know that nurse you wouldn’t mention her. It’s so much juicier to repeat the murderous fantasies of some ugly, fat Israeli minister who uses a bronze age cult to get the attention he could never get anywhere else. He thanks all the pro-Palestinians, me included, for amplifying him, his personality, his vile words, his vile takes, his depraved wishes, his perverted desires.

He thanks you. And the cycle will continue. The algorithm will keep pushing it. Ever heard of the Matthew principle or Matthew effect? It’s ‘nothing succeeds like success.’ Exposing Israel got success. As well it should because what Israel is doing is indeed the most insane thing on the planet, but then it should have started STOPPING Israel. And it has not and it won’t.

Exposing Israel got to be a business inside the eyeball economy. It got co-opted by the system. It’s moral theatre and because there is no catharsis the theatre goes on forever, stuck mid-story where the monster is revealed, and now all the characters keep pointing to it and think pointing at is, is the same as fighting it.  What fighting it could look like is not explored.

The algorithm doesn’t reward painful, long, hard, risky action, it rewards whatever gives quick dopamine. Endless content provided by those who can’t admit that they started out for the moral indignation – they’re not bad people – and are staying for the ego fix and the fun side hustle. They’re good people, but still people and do as people do. And evil grins.
