There is a bunch of stuff you can’t buy in Slovakia. Slovak food stuffs are almost always inferior. The selection at supermarkets is much smaller. Yeah, call me spoilt, but I grew up in Belgium and I now realize how many things I simply took for granted.

I miss three things from Belgium:

– it’s a bit easier to connect with people in Belgium, they are not as scared and are more open to experiments. In Slovakia everyone follows a rigid social script

– the food is really superior, this is not patriotism speaking

– you can go by bike pretty much anywhere and quite safely

But trust me, there are also things I do NOT miss when it comes to my own people and culture. I don’t even feel Belgian anymore. Am a nomad soul with some experience living in a Belgian environment
