- Decent public transportation
- Nobody bothers you
- Empty on the weekend
- Hard to meet people due to the omnipresence of timid, distant Slovaks
- Relatively ok entertainment options, if you aren’t looking for culture
- A very serious vibe, this is a city for families with kids and people with office jobs
- It’s quite clean. The picture I use here is the opposite of what it usually looks like. I took the picture because it’s so unusual
- According to me Bratislava is super safe, unless you are crazy enough to get on a bike
- A bright sky
- Lots of unfriendly looking concrete everywhere. The perfect decor for the Slovak character
- More and bigger cars than you will see in some richer nations. The more superficial people are the more they seem to care about cars
- A lot of green spots. But the beauty of these spots is ruined by the ubiquitous God awful concrete
- Along the Danube it’s quite nice. At times even romantic
- There’s nothing special or particularly exciting about Bratislava
- This is a very quiet town, apart from the rush of traffic
- Nobody smiles on the street. People avoid eye contact. Everybody minds his or her own business. Everyone is serious
- Almost everybody seems to be thinking about money, having babies and escaping to some cottage in the mountains
- It’s like a city with no soul. It only seems to exist because some big international companies are here
- It’s not a bad place to live and it’s not great either. Young people should stay the fuck away from this place unless to come and try to pick up girls. People looking to raise a family in a quiet place should be rather satisfied here. I suppose old people can have an ok life too in this city, given how quiet it is
- If you’re a tourist and you only hang out in the touristy bars you will experience a very different vibe, because especially in summer foreigners sometimes bring some Schwung to this spunkless town full of commie looking apartment buildings, dull offices, shopping malls and copycat hipster cafés with their sullen staff
What’s it like living in Bratislava?
