Confederates fail to regain control of Arkansas and Missouri.

Circa 130 years after Arkansas tried to secede from the US, one of its citizens, born in the town of Hope, becomes the president of the US, Bill Clinton.

Other fun fact: This battle was one of very few times the Confederates outnumbered Union forces. It’s also a battle where Native Americans fought in considerable numbers, mostly on the Confederate side.
