Iran is using only its cheaper, older weapons in these recent defensive actions. They are very expensive to shoot down though. Keeping Israel relatively safe during one night’s barrage costs about 200 million dollar. Financially this is more draining for Israel than for Iran. By not using its most sophisticated weapons the US has no sufficient reason to fully enter this war. It’s already helping Israel with supplies, intelligence and air defenses, etc, but Israel’s biggest goal is to drag the US into it till US soldiers are dying and the US public carries almost all costs of this new Israeli escalation.

Psychologically this is devastating for the Israeli public, it’s very confusing to on the one hand hear a non stop victory parade on Israeli television and then to see that none of that matters, insecurity and instability continue, anti-Israel sentiment grows and internal divisions become more dangerous (moderate psychos who want a return to normal versus fanatical psychos who want absolute dominance and massive expansion, to put it bluntly).

Though a significant segment of the Iranian population want nothing to do with this and crave careless western tik tok scrolling starbucks sipping life styles, a lot of Iranians understand they are part of thousands of years old Persian culture and they know the world has been underestimating their cultural and intellectual wealth by a lot. The Shia mentality  of many also prepares it to suffer gracefully. These are not whining Israelis who beg for your sympathy from inside shelters equipped with all possible modern comforts. These people don’t need to bore the world with some kind of droning victimhood gaslighting.
Israeli leadership knows Iran is not some underfed, outnumbered, under supplied, thoroughly besieged ragtag band of guerilla. This is a nation with real roots that go back thousands of years, a culture that has contributed immensely to the world, but never gets any credit, it’s of America’s favorite whipping boys. It’s been messing with Iran, which its pundits can’t even pronounce correctly, since at least the 1950s, and when Saddam was still a loyal pawn, the US gave it everything to unleash hell against Iran for almost a whole decade. They didn’t budge.
Israeli planes can bomb, but long term it can’t win, and hopefully Iran manages to develop nukes so little upstart Israel can stop bombing it. This would then push Saudi Arabia to also get nukes and US strategy in the Middle East  would collapse entirely.

Final thought: since Israelis do not want to suffer to keep their colony going, may these few rockets drive more of them to go to Germany and the US and the UK, where they are so very much worshipped by virtue signalling and self-serving politicians.
