1. He’s had it way harder. Harris was given the nomination on a silver plate. She was a ridiculously poor candidate in 2020 and had to quit early. She was then picked by a small club of Democratic aristocrats to be the VP. As a VP she was bland, at times sounded almost brain dead. Then, without primaries, she got to replace decrepit Genocide Joe. Then the media launched an unprecedented groupie campaign to prop her up. It rained platitudes with ‘joy’. What joy? The joy of inflation? The joy of crumbling infrastructure? The joy of inadequate responses to catastrophes? The joy of the opioid crisis? The joy of gang wars, mass shooting, more and more urban neighbourhoods too dangerous for any sane person to frequent? The joy of class justice, class healthcare, class education? The joy of a destructive ever gallopping wealth gap? The joy of seeing Palestinian children decapitated and set on fire? Where was the joy? Seeing AOC dance on stage? Hollow Harris giggling? Rappers endorsing her? It was an insult to counter a system that throws anyone who isn’t financially well off with ‘joy’? Meanwhile Trump had the better stunts, like his visit to McDonalds or his showing up as a garbageman. The US political arena is a reality tv spectacle and Trump has played the game better. With Trump you get bold television, with Harris you get Oprah like talkshow vibes. The moment seems to require more recklessness and Schwung than a drip of ‘feel good’ methadone. Smiles and cheap lines like from Obama, in one of his less spirited auto-pilot attempt at hypnotizing the public: ‘she will have your back every day of her presidency.’ Yeah, really? Whose back was she having the past four years then? Americans love a good story and his come back story was a better one than some boring VP candidate catapulted to undeserved celebrity status by the media. It also didn’t help that the legal cases throw against him in an attempt to stop him were boring. If your politics are but a spectacle you gotta keep it entertaining.

2. The Democratic Party has a long history of sabotaging candidates that stand for real change, who want to do more than window dressing and want to something tangible for working class Americans. Helped along by the media they curbed the popularity of Bernie Sanders and that is one of the main reasons why a reality tv star with tasteless manners, outrageous statements and barely any real opinion or any real factual knowledge is one of the leading presidential candidates in a row.

3. Does anyone seriously believe that out of more than 300,000,000 million candidates an empty suit like hollow Harris was the best a healthy democracy could do? Of course not, the fact that Harris got to be a leading presidential candidate is a loud symptom of a democracy bled dry by identity politics, Versailles like political gossip, journalists acting like courtiers and stenographers, drama, platitudes, empty ‘I feel your pain’ rethoric

4. The Democratic Party throws working class Americans under the bus and then puts a gun to your head and says: ‘Yeah, we are shitty, but if you don’t vote for us you will even lose your abortion rights.’ Most people don’t enjoy being blackmailed.

5. Folks get a little suspicious when you promise to fight for things in the next four years, when you had every chance to fight for those things in the previous four years, but chose not to every chance you got

6. By labeling Republican voters ‘garbage’ intellectual lightweight Biden finally spoke to Republican voters in a language they could understand. Hillary Clinton’s ‘deplorables’ is usually not in their vocabulary. Few people could have made more disdainful statements than Hillary, but Biden pulled it off. If in 2024 you have to hide the president that your party vomitted up to stop Bernie in 2020 so he can’t trainwreck your campaign you probably messed up somewhere along the way.

7. Continuously claiming that Trump will destroy democracy while your own party aristocracy decides behind the scenes who your candidate will be and organizes a coronation doesn’t come with a lot of credibility. You can’t proclaim yourselves to be the knights of the round table standing between democracy and despotism when your own rule is despotic. In 2020 Obama convinced other Democratic candidates to drop out and endorse Biden, only to stop Bernie. How are the Democrats in any way defenders of Democracy? What democracy is there to defend? On top of everything Democratic politicians are just as beholden to aipac, Israel and the needs of the military industrial complex as the Republicans. People hate evil, but if given the choice they will choose the straight up evil over the evil pretending to be holier-than-thou

8. Members of the Democratic nobility have a penchant for writing autobiographies with a lot of Oprah tearjerk and ‘overcome the struggle’ vibes and maybe people are realizing that these mellow feel good stories are ‘becoming’ slightly annoying and act as a poor buffer against inflation, maybe that’s part of ‘what happened’, maybe Americans have ‘dreams of’ a father figure sweeping in to clean house, as illusionary that dream may be with a narcissist and sociopath like Trump

9. Seeing White House spokespeople smirk while enjoying playing ping pong with words to deny a genocide wasn’t a great look

10. Yes, Trump makes crazy statements, utters threats, tactically speaks of election fraud, baits the public into spontaneously rising up and declaring him the undisputed sole ruler of the land, but paradoxically he is also seen as the peace candidate with a much more credible anti-war attitude than his opponent

11. College students protesting war are perhaps not the psycho maniacs the Democratic establishment suggested they were, perhaps the Democratic establishment are the stock holding, speaking fee catching, hobnobbing vultures who are the real psycho maniacs and never address the real issues plaguing Americans. If Trump, a guy utterly lacking in knowledge, with almost no vision other than of his own grandeur and a patriarchat on steroids, but with exceptional talent for spectacle, humiliation tactics, bullying and crowd galvanzing wins he should send a very warm thank you note to the media and the Democratic oligarchy.
