The coming Israeli Civil War and the collapse of the zionist project from within Religious zionists and the settlers will soon be at the throats of secular zionists in the cities. An ex Israeli general, Yitzhak Brik, has predicted an Israeli civil war and so did former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Factors to consider:

– Plenty of secular Jews don’t really want to serve in the IDF and are frustrated and depressed after fighting ghosts and seeing their comrades kill women and children

– enormous disenchantment with politicians over a total faillure to achieve stated war aims and disillusionment over how little priority the hostages were given. Plus, some Israelis do know about the Hannibal Directive and some even wonder if October 7th was an inside job

– ‘It’s the economy, stupid’ (Jim Carville), remember that line that played a role in the Bill Clinton Campaign. Well, people support their governments and war as long as it doesn’t make their shopping carts emptier…

– it’s never enough for the settlers and their radical supporters, they will always demand more Lebensraum, more violence, more crazy oppression of enemies, they will never be satisfied – the military forces of Israel arose after unifiying three terrorist groups, the Irgun, the Stern Gang and the Haganah. These three were not one and the same and had different goals. The Irgun wanted to kill every last Palestinian. Even back in 1948 they tried to kill more moderate Jews. This was the first time Israel was brought to the brink of Civil War but not the last time. They can only be held together as long as the endless wars of Israel don’t seem endless. Eventually they will turn on each other, all parties blaming each other for the mess their country is in

– Israel is fast becoming a pariah state and there is no way out now, there is no way to declare victory and end the fighting, the fighting is bound to be endless because Israel has created enemies who simply will not back down, people who are in the right do not back down. If you’re accused of murder, but you’re innocent you’re highly unlikely to plead guilty

– This is the craziest aspect, but no less true, there is so much hatred in Israeli society that there are not enough Palestinians or Lebanese to give their hatred to, there’s too much hatred to go around, some of that hatred is going to go to fellow Israelis, even the giving American hand can expect to be bitten by Israelis, because America will be blamed for not intervening on the ground with all its military might and letting Israel sink away in a quagmire of its own making
