Maybe I like working so much because only then am I able to focus.
When am not working I take books from my shelves and I always put them back after reading less than half a page.
If I didn’t read newspaper articles with students I would never read any article from start to finish.
I have read 62 books this year, but that is counting audiobooks as well, which still seems like cheating to me.
How I have managed to read 20 ‘real’ books the old fashioned way is a bit of a mystery. Clearly some days I do concentrate on one thing for a considerable amount of time.
It’s not just my concentration span that’s been torn to shreds. It’s one of the diseases of our time.
I have young students who tell me a five minute video is a LONG video.
